Winston Torr – Giant Little Creatures – Fellini Gallery Berlin

the Documentary Video of Giant Little Creatures Commission Mural by Winston Torr is up!

A GIANT month long process captured on one little Time Lapse Video.

Click the PLAY arrow button to play!

I decided to give this mural a title and named it: Giant Little Creature

In Part 3 of Giant Mural Commission by Winston Torr, I have shown and explained the process of painting the figures with a telescope brush I made.

In Part 2 of Giant Mural Commission by Winston Torr, I had wallpapered a  4.5 x 3.5 meter, about 4 x 5 yard, full of newspaper in preparation to draw on. Once that was done, another wash of wall paper tapestry binder solution was applied, and let dry for many days.

As explained in Part 1, I just a received this Giant Commission from Fellini Gallery to do a huge Mural measuring 4.5 x 3.5 meters, about 4 x 5 yards, for their Grand Opening titled “Amarcord” in Kreuzberg – Berlin, Germany scheduled for early September 2011.

and now, the Final Part,  what the whole world has been waiting for is now available to view on Vimeo!

Here are some pictures to help visualize the whole piece!

Measurements: 4.5 x 3.5 meters (4x5 yards)

Duration: August to September 2011

Medium: Acrylic on Newspaper under Acrylic Polymer
Executed with a telescope drawing mechanism.

 Zunft [halle]
information taken from ZunftWissen.org

‘Zunft’ is the German word for guilds. In medieval times, guilds were groups of artisans who gathered to sell their works. These organizations also sought to regulate the price and quality of products such as weaving and ironwork. In the old days, consumers would visit guilds to order their goods, exchange views with the manufacturer and get a unique pair of shoes, a piece of crystal or a freshly baked bread. Die Zunft’s vision is inspired by the believe to free manufacturers and consumers from the noisy, sometimes mindless, over-promotion that makes the engine of the modern retail world roar. This will not be a Disneyworld, partners will be carefully selected because the places have to be able to develop a real community feeling. The “Die Zunft AG” wants to bring back the connection between manufacturers and direct end-users. Today, its a least impossible to get to know if the goods you buy were made by kids or hungry people working under terrible conditions. Consumers have lost the sense of value for quality and good craftsmanship. Today we are able to buy lots of cheap-quality things that we do not need – they soon end up in the garbage. As for Die Zunft’s list of partners, the relevant criteria for admission are not what they produce, but rather how they produce it. In general, companies in fine production and sustainable business will be welcome to present their goods at the guild. Businesses will include ateliers and boutiques with handcrafted goods like shoes, clothing, painted porcelain and glass-blown objects. At “Zunft”-workshops, consumers will be able learn about the production of goods, like woven textiles, dresses and embroidery. Consumers will be able to take instruction in the skills they see on display, including cooking lessons. Die Zunft will also have a TV studio for its own programming.

Electric Car Driving Record in Berlin – The Day After

It is amazing to hear that my buddy Mirko Hannemann, head of DBM Energy in Germany, just set the world record for completing a journey of 605km (375mi) from Munich to the capital Berlin on October 26, 2010, non-stop without re-charging his newly invented electric car battery in the Audi Car supported by Lekker Energy!

Mirko Hannemann

Mirko Hannemann

I had a chance to talk to see him tonight, the day after the much enlightened event. Over 700 hundreds emails, and calls from auto companies, he is just as the German’s would say, totally Kaputt! He is a total night owl, give him a cup of coffee around midnight, and back he is packed with energy… I guess thats why he comsumes his life in the ENERGY business…ha!

Mirko says that “there is still more to be done, test, and develop”.

I bet!… but im sure it was a hell lotta fun driving that car!…

I congratulate him setting that new world record in which is going to change the view of the world in the auto industry dramatically.

Mirko! I am super Proud of you buddy!…:)
